
Eric Scott, Ph.D. is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Anesthesiology, University of Michigan Medical School. He is the Medical Director of the Michigan Pediatric Adolescent Interdisciplinary Network (MiPAIN), a comprehensive pediatric pain program serving the needs of youth with chronic painful conditions. He is the co-chair of the Pediatric Pain subcommittee at the University of Michigan and helped initiate the Pediatric Pain Grand Rounds quarterly series, also at the University of Michigan. He was the former co-chair of the American Pain Society’s Pain in Infants, Children and Youth Special Interest Group.
The focus of his research is on understanding the role of pain in the quality of life of those with Sickle Cell disease, how partnerships with individuals with Sickle Cell disease can be enhanced to improve engagement in care. Additionally, he is interested in learning how to improve pain care for youth with chronic painful conditions, especially through brief therapy models.
