ChildKind International works to reduce pain in children by evaluating and recognizing healthcare facilities that have developed standardized, institution-wide, collaborative approaches to the prevention and treatment of pediatric pain. Institutions that show evidence of meeting the 5 principles of ChildKind receive ChildKind certification.

Obtaining ChildKind certification is done in three stages. The total time to complete the process varies by institution, depending on the pediatric pain policies & procedures, and the organizational structures that are currently in place.
