Julia Johnston

Julia Johnston is currently pursuing her Master’s of Public Health. Julia graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communications, a Minor in Psychology, and Certification in Service Learning. After receiving her Bachelor of Science, Julia traveled to Southern Goa, India to study Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga. After India, she traded in the Arabian Sea for the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. Julia is a yoga teacher who loves sharing her passion for movement meditation and health equity.

Previously Marketing Manager and Behavioral Health Coordinator at Tri-County Health Network in Colorado. Julia was responsible for the organization’s online therapy program, including scheduling clients, managing clinicians, and developing relationships with community partners to expand health services.

She currently delivers evidence-based education as a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor for adults, youths, and teens. She developed the Southwest Colorado NAMI chapter and instructs classes as a certified NAMI Family-to-Family Facilitator and Support Group Specialist. Julia is the Health Track Leader for Radically Rural, a summit started in 2018 as a partnership between the Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship and The Keen Sentinel. The focus of the conference is to build sustainability and success for rural life and places by building a network that connects people to each other and to new ideas.
